Industry-Academic-Government Exchange Grant

Aiming to support and subsidize research exchange activities of young researchers in Japan or overseas in the field of industrial technology and related fields, This program provides grants for research expenses, travel expenses, transportation expenses for research (including study) conducted by young researchers at universities and public research institutes in Japan in collaboration with other institutions (including private companies).

· One who belongs to a university or a public research institution
· One who is a domestic or overseas graduate student or young researcher
· One who is able to obtain recommendation from the head of department etc. at the time of entry

Candidate Recommendation Guide

Grant Candidate Qualification

Domestic or overseas researchers or graduate students engaged in the target technical field, who satisfy the following conditions.

[1] As of March 31, 2025, aged 35 or below
(However, if there is a special reason, even aged 40 or below is acceptable)

[2] Those, who are expected to achieve outstanding research results in collaborative exchange researches by this grant.

Recommendation Procedure

[1] Recommender

 1) The person in charge of accepting the graduate students and collaborative exchange researchers promoting collaborative exchange researches.

 2) In the public research institutes etc., the head of the laboratory, research directors or equivalent persons.

[2] Number of recommendations
One recommender can make up to 2 recommendations.

[3] Recommendation Method
Submit "Industry-Academic-Government Exchange Grant" candidate recommendation form to the secretariat division of the foundation.

Recommendation Reception Period

In principle, two months before start of the term.

Selection Method

Selection is made by the selection committee, and the chairperson of the foundation will approve it.

Result Notification and Grant Offering

[1] Result Notification
Result Notification will be sent to the recommender by about one month before the departure date.
[2] Grant Offering
The grant will be paid roughly a month before the departure date.

Achievement Report

After the grant period is over, the recipient is requested to promptly submit the prescribed outcome report to the foundation.
